On Tuesday we had our school photos. The children looked very smart in their winter uniform. We look forward to seeing the end results in Term 3 and thank Ms Amy Doszpot for her organisation.
Next Friday June 27, will be having Souper Hero Day. We encourage all children to dress up as their favourite superhero and to bring a tin of soup to school for a needy family. We thank Ms Cooper for her organisation of this wonderful event.
Installation of our new playground will commence during the holidays. All going to plan, the play equipment will be ready to use mid-way through next term. To honour and thank our sponsors and parents for fundraising for this, we will be conducting a breaking of the ground ceremony on Thursday July 3 at 2:45pm. This is our final assembly for this term. The Assembly will commence in the hall with awards at 2:30pm followed by a ceremony near where the equipment is to be installed. We hope to see all our parents and carers there. An invitation is enclosed with this newsletter.
Next term we will be implementing online Music lessons provided by Amplify from Kinder to Year 6. This is a very engaging program for our students and will ensure that every student has access to contemporary, inspiring and engaging music lessons that are based on the NSW curriculum outcomes.
As you are all aware, I will be on long service leave next term. I am pleased to announce that following an interview with a panel, Ms Shaye Cooper will be Acting Assistant Principal during Term 3. Shaye is an experienced teacher and has been Acting REC at St Bede’s since the commencement of 2024. She will continue to teach in Kinder next term to ensure as least disruption to her class as possible as she undertakes higher duties. Information regarding the Acting REC will be provided before the end of this term.
We wish all our students who are participating in the Northern Regions Athletics Carnival tomorrow in Goulburn the best of luck. We know you will try your hardest and represent St Bede’s School with pride.
Have a great week and keep warm!

Principal
Parent Teacher Interviews
A reminder that Parent Teacher Interviews will be held next week. These interviews form an important part of our Semester 1 reporting process.
Bookings must be made via the Compass Parent Portal by 2:00pm this Friday.
We encourage all families to attend, as interviews are a valuable opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and learning goals.
Unexplained Absences
A reminder that all student absences must be explained by parents or carers. Today, notifications were sent via Compass to families with outstanding absences.
Please update these absences via the Compass Parent Portal as soon as possible, as any unexplained absences will be recorded on student reports.
If you have any questions or need assistance with Compass, please do not hesitate to contact me (amy.doszpot@cg.catholic.edu.au).
Introducing the Friendology Program
Next term we will be introducing the Friendology Program by URSTRONG across all year levels. This evidence-based program is designed to empower students with the skills, language, and confidence to develop healthy friendships.
Through Friendology, students will learn how to:
- Build and maintain respectful relationships
- Manage conflict in kind and constructive ways
- Recognise the difference between healthy and unhealthy friendships
- Stand up for themselves and others
- Grow their empathy, confidence, and resilience
By teaching a common language around friendship, the program helps create a safer, more inclusive school environment where every child feels connected and supported.
On Tuesday we held a Parent Information Session on the introduction of the program. A big thank you to all who were able to join us! If you were unable to attend and would like more information, please reach out to me.
We look forward to working in partnership with families to strengthen friendship skills at St Bede’s.
Have a wonderful end to the week!
Amy Doszpot
Assistant Principal

Souper Hero Day – Friday 27 June
Calling all heroes... it's time to suit up for a cause!
On Friday 27 June (Week 9), St Bede’s is hosting Souper Hero Day! Students are invited to dress as their favourite superheroes and bring along a tin of soup to donate to the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal.
Every can collected will help warm the hearts (and bellies!) of those in need in our local community. Please check that donations have at least 6 months before expiry. Let’s be heroes of hope this winter—one tin at a time!

Prayer for Pentecost
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle them in the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created.
And You shall renew the face of the earth.
Amen.
Pentecost is a special time when we remember how the Holy Spirit came to Jesus' friends after He returned to Heaven. It filled them with courage to share God's love with others. We often call it the Church’s birthday, as it marks the beginning of the Church’s mission in the world. This year, Pentecost was celebrated on Sunday, June 8, 2025. It's observed 50 days after Easter Sunday and marks the moment when the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles, often referred to as the "birthday of the Church".

- If you are coming into the school outside of drop off and pick up times you are required to report to the office and sign in. It is important that we have a record of all visitors to the school.
- Please be mindful of what containers you send to school with your child. Please do not send ring pull cans (like the lids on small tuna cans etc.) or glass containers as these present a cutting hazard to children. Please open the can at home and place in a plastic container.
- We would ask that soft drinks are not sent to school with your children as we do try to encourage a healthy alternative like water.
- If your child is unwell, please place their absence through the Compass Parent Portal App. There is no need to then notify the office once you have placed it into the Compass app.
- Parents are reminded to check that their child's name is on all their clothing - it is impossible to return clothes with no name.
- The school has a 2nd hand uniform pool. If you would like any uniform items please call into the office to complete an order form or alternatively email the office with your order. You will be contacted once the order has been filled. Please note that as the uniform pool relies on donations from parents, we do not have a full range of items or sizes. Any families who have uniforms that they no longer need, please consider donating these back to the school, these can be left at the office. Thank you
- Len Mutton and Co are the schools official uniform supplier. They are located in the main street or phone 0248422446 or email lenmutton@bigpond.com
