During our recent pupil-free day, staff participated in a spirituality day on the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.” We embarked on a pilgrimage through Braidwood and are deeply grateful to Mrs Mandy O’Brien for generously sharing her time and wisdom about her family’s local connections. It was also a lovely opportunity for me to share reflections from my own recent pilgrimage along the Camino Francés and visits to holy sites in Portugal, Spain, and Italy. It was truly a beautiful day of prayer and reflection. A heartfelt thank you to Bridget Bradley, Shaye Cooper, and Hayley Millsom for the many hours of preparation that made the day such a success.
So much has happened at St Bede’s during my leave last term. The children have made tremendous progress in their learning and have grown so much! The sensory garden looks fantastic and is already being enjoyed by many, and the new play equipment has been installed — it looks amazing! There’s still a little work to be completed before it’s ready for use, but all going to plan it should be ready for use during week 4. We extend our sincere thanks to Kristi and Tim Morrison for the countless hours they have devoted, especially during the holidays and last weekend, to bring this project to life.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Ms Amy Doszpot for her outstanding leadership of St Bede’s in my absence, and to congratulate her on her appointment as Principal from next year. Exciting times lie ahead for our community — and how fortunate we are that everyone already knows Amy so well!
Best of luck to all our students participating in the Boorowa Carnival on Friday! Thank you to Mrs Tooth for her organisation and supervision on the day, with the support of Ms Laurel Clark. We hope everyone enjoys a wonderful day of sport and community spirit.
Finally, a reminder that our last Community Council meeting for the year will be held on Thursday, November 13. Before the formal meeting at 6:30pm, we invite all parents to join us in the sensory garden at 5:30pm for an Open Community Council session. This is a great opportunity to chat with Council members about their roles and responsibilities. Light refreshments will be provided. We also have a few positions available for next year and warmly welcome new members to get involved.
Have a great weekend.
God bless,
Marylou Gorham
Principal
St Bede’s Working Bee
We are holding a Working Bee at St Bede’s on Friday 7 November from 2:00 pm – 5:30 pm, followed by a BBQ to thank our volunteers!
We have a range of jobs to tackle around the school — pruning plants and hedges, collecting green waste, cleaning gutters, blowing leaves and weeding.
If you have any gardening tools at home (wheelbarrows, hedgers, power blowers, ladders, rakes, buckets, etc.), please bring them along — they will be a big help!
To help us plan the afternoon and catering, please RSVP using the form below.
Remember, many hands make light work — we hope to see you there!
Dear Parents and Carers,
Firstly, I would like to thank Mrs Bridget Bradley and Ms Hayley Millsom for their generous support in sharing the REC role throughout Term 3 while I stepped into the Acting Assistant Principal position.
Term 4 has begun with great energy and is already shaping up to be a busy and joy-filled term!
Staff Spirituality
Last Monday, our staff gathered for our annual Spirituality Day — a pilgrimage through Braidwood that invited us to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the story of hope that helped shape our Catholic community. We are deeply grateful to Mrs Mandy O’Brien for sharing her time, wisdom, and family connection to Fr Edward O’Brien, a founding figure of faith in Braidwood during the 1850s.
I would also like to sincerely thank Mrs Bridget Bradley and Ms Hayley Millsom for assisting in the planning and guiding of this reflective and faith-filled day.
Congratulations
We extend our warmest congratulations to Dominique, Stuart, Ruby, Hazel, and Hamish McAllan on the safe arrival of Poppy Adelaide McAllan, born on 14 October.
We look forward to meeting the newest member of our St Bede’s community!

Our Term 4 calendar is quickly filling with many exciting school and parish events.

Reminder Hair
At St Bede's we are very proud of our school uniform which has been approved by our Community Council. We are seeing children presenting to school with a few concerns which are in breech of our policy.
Our Uniform Policy clearly states:
Hair must be kept clean and tidy and where longer than shoulder length must be tied back.
Permitted hair clips and elastics must be in school colours.
No hair dye may be worn in hair except under medical advice.
Hair must be worn in a natural manner (i.e., no skullets, mo-hawks, razor cuts etc.)
Our policy is available on the website should you require further information.
- All children should be in full summer uniform by week 3 - please no mixing summer and winter uniform items.
- If your child arrives at school after 8:55 am, a parent or responsible adult MUST sign the student in at the school office.
- If you are coming into the school outside of drop off and pick up times you are required to report to the office and sign in. It is important that we have a record of all visitors to the school.

The Parent Pulse: Social Media and Our Children
From 10 December 2025, age-restricted social media platforms will have to take reasonable steps to prevent Australians under the age of 16 from creating or keeping an account.
Your voice matters. By completing this survey, you are helping Catholic School Parents Australia (CSPA) understand the real experiences, challenges, and hopes of families in our Catholic school communities. The insights gathered will directly shape our advocacy with Catholic Education authorities and Government, ensuring that the needs and perspectives of parents and carers are heard at the highest levels.
Your input will guide us in championing initiatives that strengthen learning, wellbeing, and partnership between home and school.
