Parents and Carers under the existing COVID rules if you need to enter the school for any reason please phone the office, 48422413 before entering the grounds.
Dear Parents and Carers,
This week our Year 6 students participated in a modified camp at school. They participated in a number of fun activities including, an escape room where they had to use a blue light to find invisible clues, STEM challenges (making a parachute to protect a Kinder Surprise egg from breaking when dropped from the Year 6 classroom, a balloon powered car, and created an artwork using paper circuits), an Amazing Race maths challenge, some team building games, creating artwork using gelli pads, hand decorated their own mugs, made a special gift for their kinder buddies, and a movie night at school. Thank you to Ms Kaptein for her very creative organisation of the activities and the many hours of preparation time that went into making this special for the Year 6 students and to Deer Head Van for catering for their movie night.
The Year 5 students presented their leadership speeches last Thursday and the Years 2 to Year 5 students and staff have voted. The speeches that they presented were written at school and were very well presented and a credit to the students. Next Tuesday the results will be announced to the students at the Leadership Liturgy when the handover of leadership occurs. Unfortunately, due to the current Covid Level 3 requirements, parents will be unable to attend. The children will receive their badges next year at the Opening School Mass. We will be moving to the new leadership system in 2022 and the third Sports House, Gillamatong (Yellow), will be introduced. Following the leadership survey which was recently conducted, some parents requested that their children remain in their current house and all requests will be honoured. If you do not wish for your child to change houses, please contact the school by next Monday December 6.
Plans are underway to finalise staffing for 2022, which will be announced in the newsletter next week. To assist with preparation for this day and end of year planning, if your child/children won’t be attending St Bede’s next year can you please notify the front office by Friday, December 10. On Friday, December 10 the new staff will be coming to St Bede’s so they can meet everyone and participate in a transition day, where they get to meet their new teacher and experience some time as a class with their teacher for next year. We look forward to welcoming our new staff to St Bede’s and they are looking forward to being part of the Braidwood community.
Thank you so much to all our parents who have endeavoured to follow all the Level 3+ restrictions. Please ensure you contact the office if you need to come into the school, sign in at the front office and wear a mask.
Please keep our Braidwood community in your prayers and continue to be thankful for the small everyday blessings around us.
God Bless
