Dear Parents and Carers,
It was wonderful to see so many of our staff, students and families participating in the Anzac March and ceremonies and representing our school both at Braidwood and at Major’s Creek ceremonies. Gary Pieper, on behalf of Braidwood sub-branch thanked St Bede’s for participating and reiterated that it is through these involvements that we preserve our heritage and national pride.
We are still seeking class representatives for Years 1, 4 or 6. Please contact the front office if you think this is a job that you could do. This is a wonderful opportunity to establish friendships and networks and to set up social events outside of school, play dates etc.
We are extremely grateful to our parents who turned up last Friday and assisted at the working bee. It was certainly a case of many hands make light work and considering there hadn’t been a working bee for several years, the list of jobs was extensive. A special thank you to Ged Galvin for coordinating the event assisted by Richard Bunn. We had parents who couldn’t attend, donating mini skips or time at a later date. Thank you one and all! Our grounds look amazing!
This year for Mother’s Day, St Bede’s staff will be conducting a breakfast for all our beautiful mums and carers from 8:15am, Thursday 6 May. If you are a dad who is available at this time, we would love your assistance with the breakfast. The breakfast will be followed by a liturgy in the hall. Invitations will be sent home next week.
COVID19 restrictions: The capping of no more than 100 adults at an event at school remains. Below are the updated changes to the plan:
- No restrictions on catering
- Medical clearance is no longer required where persons are returning to school if they have been unwell (noting differs if a person has been diagnosed with COVID-19)
- No requirements for wearing a mask at indoor venues or while using transport services.
- Physical distancing is now recommended rather than required where practicable.
- No restrictions on group work or any school related activities.
- No capacity restriction in offices.
- No restrictions on singing in places of worship.
Playgroup will commence tomorrow at St Bede’s for 0 to 5-year olds. It will be conducted in the old Drama room. Parents if you are interested just come along, there is no need to pre-enrol. We are still in need of any unwanted toys or books that you have.
God Bless

Working Bee Thanks
What a marvellous turn out!!! The day started will all classes contributing before a small army of parents and grandparents arrived to tick off most of the required tasks. Besides the amazing amount of work completed, the chance for children and parents to mingle and introduce themselves was a highlight. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend and the Vardanega’s for donating the 3 greens waste skip bins. If you were unable to attend but would like a small task to complete in your own time, please contact the school. We still have green waste to fit into the skip bins and would love a hand.
We have a short handled shovel that was left at school along with a pair of gardening gloves. A green leaf rake with a wooden handle was taken by mistake. Thank you once again.
NAPLAN
Years 3 and 5 will commence NAPLAN on Tuesday 11 May Week 4. Students are asked to bring in headphones [compatible with school iPads].
It is very important students are present at school on these days except for illness. For more information please see the website
There is also an excellent recording on students with disabilities accessing NAPLAN.

May we be a beautiful garden for you.
Help us to live in harmony, to provide support to each other when needed and at other times space for each of us to grow
Help us to take the time to receive the warmth of your grace in our live ad to drink from the water of life daily.
Guide us as we live our lives to have the right balance of work, rest and play.
May we be healthy, contented and giving in all that we do.
Create in us an oasis of love and hope that others can rest within and enjoy.
Amen

Uniform Notice
The school office has received a phone call from Len Mutton & Co, the schools uniform supplier.
At St Bede's our uniform is unique (made to order), coupled with this reason and supply issues due to COVID related import restrictions, it is making the supply of stock very difficult. Mutton's has advised that there will be a 6-8 week wait on existing orders and they thank you for your patience.
