Last Thursday we were saddened to hear about the death of her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. On Friday staff and students prayed for the Royal family at our morning Assembly and they have been in our thoughts and prayers this week. Next Thursday September 22, will be a pupil free day as we join our country in a National Day of Mourning.
This Saturday at 6pm mass, some of our students will be making their First Communion. We pray for Reece, Josie, Tyrone, Isla and Sam and thank Helen Mulholland, Johanna Barling and Jade Crispin for preparing the students and Fr Mick and Br Brian for their support and assistance. A special thank you to Trish Young for making the First Communion cake. We hope you can come along and support our students and families at this special occasion.
Next Tuesday and Wednesday, St Bede’s will be undertaking school registration. Every five years a panel from Catholic Education visit our school and view our classrooms, teaching and learning and compliance documentation. We welcome from Catholic Education Ms Brenda Foley, Mr Patrick Ellis, Mr Lachlan Ellis, Mr David Thiele, Mr Lee Herden and Principal of St Joseph’s Grenfell-Mrs Melissa Hotham. We are looking forward to sharing our beautiful school with them and the wonderful learning that is occurring here. We will be presenting a liturgy for the panel in the hall at 8:45am on Wednesday. It would be wonderful if you could drop your child/children off to school by 8:35 am so we can involve them in our prayer.
Next Wednesday is out last day for term 3. To celebrate we will be having footy colours and House Spirit Day and the canteen will be open for a special lunch order. Friday September 23 is a pupil free day as previously advertised in the newsletter. School will resume for all students on Tuesday October 11. The children have the option to wear summer uniform upon return, with the expectation that all students will be wearing summer uniform from week three.
This Friday is our Spring Working Bee from 3:15 to 5:30pm. Come along, bring your tools and join in the fun. There will be a barbecue to follow for all our helpers and their families. Please RSVP by tomorrow morning for catering purposes.
On Wednesday October 12, there will be an Open Community Council meeting at the Club from 6pm to 7pm. The topics for discussion are parent events and the building refurbishment. Come along and meet our Community Council members and enjoy some light refreshments. We hope to see you there! At 7pm our formal meeting with the Community Council will commence.
Please keep the Paciorek family in your prayers on the recent death of Greg’s mother Anne.
Eternal Rest Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen
Have a great week.
God Bless
Please keep in your prayers our First Communion children who will be making this special sacrament in our church this Saturday at 6pm. We celebrate with Tyrone, Reece, Josie, Sam and Isla on this special day. Father Mick will celebrate the Mass. The children will wear a sash which they have decorated with the symbols of the Eucharist. There will be a gathering afterwards to share their First Communion cake.
Our thoughts are with the Royal family, on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, may she rest in peace.
Eternal Rest Eternal rest grant unto her,
O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon her.
May the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God,
rest in peace.
Amen

In challenging conditions, 8 students travelled to the AIS in Canberra to compete at the Archdiocesan Athletics in Week 6. Just a few reminders:
- Kindergarten - 2023
- If you have a child starting Kinder in 2023 and have not yet signed the Parent Commitment agreement that was emailed out - please do so as soon as possible. All paperwork need to be completed before a child can attend the orientation days.
- Morning Drop off
- Parents are reminded that if you drop your child/ren off after 8:55 am that you need to come into the school office to sign your child in - this is a CE requirement.
-
Unwell at school
- If your child is unwell please keep them at home.
- If a student or staff member displays even mild COVID-19 symptoms, they must take a RAT or get a PCR test and isolate until they receive a negative test result.
- Lost Property
-
- Parents are reminded to ensure that they label all school clothes as we currently have a growing pile of unlabelled uniforms. We suggest using fabric paint or iron-on labels as they last well.
