Northern Region Athletics news
Last week we received the exciting news that St Bede’s had won the trophy for the best overall school at the Northern Region Athletics carnival held last term. This is a fantastic effort given our small school status! Well done to all the children who competed so well as a team – we finally knocked Sts Peter and Paul off the podium after 6 straight years!
We also had 2 students who were awarded age champions, receiving a medal for the efforts. Congratulations to Dylan (Jnr Boys Champion) and Oscar (Snr Boys Champion).
Archdiocesan Athletics Carnival
8 students travelled to the AIS in Canberra on Tuesday to represent our school and the Northern Region at the Archdiocesan Athletics Carnival. There were some outstanding performances, with the following students now off to Sydney at the end of term to compete at the MacKillop championships:
- Dylan (1st - high jump)
- Mack (2nd - shot put)
- Angus (2nd - 100m, 1st - 200m)
- Archer (1st – 1500m)
