RE News
Dear Parents and Carers,
Farewells
This week we officially farewell Brother Brian from the St Bede's school community. On Tuesday we shared a lovely lunch with the staff, some members of our Community Council and special guests. Following this Br Brian was presented with his gift, the naming of our new building in his honour, "The Brother Brian Berg Wing". Br Brian will always have a special place in our heart and in the school for generations to come. Br Brian has been a very special member of the school community, providing strength, support and an unwavering connection between our school and parish communities. We wish him all the best in his move to Sydney.

Sadly, Father Mick also finished up last weekend due to ill health. Father Mick spoke very fondly of his time in the Braidwood/Bungendore/Gundaroo Parish. The children have all signed a card this week farewelling Father Mick. In the meantime, Father Tony Percy from Queanbeyan and Father Joshua Scott will support the parish.
Tomorrow, we say goodbye to a 'marked' favourite, Mr Chifley. Mr Chifley has been a great colleague to work with, his enthusiasm and sense of humour will be greatly missed by all staff and students. We wish "Mr Chimney" all the best in his newest adventure as Assistant Principal at St Clare's College in Canberra. We have footy colours day tomorrow for a gold coin donation. All money is going towards fr Mick's Timor L'Este project.
Vinnies DARE Program
Today, Year 5 participated in the DARE program provided by St Vincent De Paul. We welcomed Sharkie from the Education and Youth team into the classroom for the day. The children participated in activities around the themes of strengths, values, relationships and emotions. We look forward to welcoming the team back in the future to support some other grades in our school.
REC Retreat
Last week I attended an REC retreat at Galong. The focus for the retreat was slowing down and reflecting on the corporal and spiritual works of mercy, particularly in our school communities. As we reach the end of the term and you and your family have a chance to slow down over the holidays, I encourage you too to take some time out in nature, to reflect on the year that has been and to set some goals for next term for your family, self and children.
Have a wonderful holiday break,
Bridget Bradley
