Whooping Cough
As advised via compass on Monday, we currently have confirmed cases of Whooping Cough within the school community. We are asking all our parents to be vigilant in regards to this highly contagious illness. Should children show symptoms please seek medical advice.
Please see the information contained in the fact sheet for symptoms.
There is also a gastroenteritis bug affecting all classes. If your child is unwell please keep them at home, particularly if they have had vomiting or diarrhoea. Even if you think they are okay to come to school, the NSW Health guidelines suggest that students who have vomited or a bout of diarrhoea should be kept at home for 48 hours to help prevent the spread of illness through the school. Please see the guidelines from NSW Health regarding gastroenteritis https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/factsheets/Factsheets/viral-gastroenteritis.pdf
We appreciate your co-operation in these matters.
