Principals Message
Parents and Carers under the existing COVID rules if you need to enter the school for any reason please phone the office, 48422413 before entering the grounds.
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to all our students and staff! It is just so wonderful to walk around the school and hear the buzz of students who are so happy to be back at school with their friends and teachers. Thank you so much to all our parents who have endeavoured to follow all the Level 3+ restrictions. Just a reminder that school starts at 8:55 am, after this time your child needs to be signed in by a parent, please phone the office, 48422413, before entering the school. We are unable to have Music lessons at present, should the situation change, we will inform you. It isn’t easy but we navigate this road together. The children have quickly adjusted to remaining within their Cohorts for playtime and pick-up and drop-off.
Staffing Changes: On Friday November 12 we say farewell to Ms Bridget Welfare as she will be taking 12 months maternity leave. We will miss her, but wish Bridget and her partner Cameron all the very best as they begin this exciting time in their lives. Ms Jessie Callan will be teaching Kinder with the assistance of Mrs Lois White for the remainder of the year.
Ms Lisa Kaptein received the news earlier this week that she was successful in obtaining a leadership position at a school in Canberra. We will miss Lisa and wish her all the best. We will get an opportunity to farewell her at the end of the year.
Plans are well underway for Kinder Orientation on Tuesday November 16 and Tuesday November 23 from 9am to 12pm. Special invitations will be sent to our 2022 Kinder students from their buddies next week and information will be posted to each family. Unfortunately, parents won’t be allowed to come into school but the buddies will greet the students at the back gate as they arrive.
Miss Shaye Cooper will be teaching Kinder in 2022, assisted by Mrs Lois White. Shaye and Lois are looking forward to the Orientation Days.
Arrangements are still being made for the class teachers for Years 1 to 6 for 2022. More information will be provided once the staffing has been finalised.
Yesterday, a note was emailed to all families regarding changes with leadership opportunities for Year 6 students. We encourage all our parents to complete the survey on the QR Code displayed on the note as there are some significant changes suggested. We value your input! The survey needs to be completed by Wednesday November 10.
This week we welcome the Yagos family to St Bede’s. Jacob-commencing next week in Year 4 and Lottie who commenced this week, in Year 2. The children are looking forward to being at St Bede’s and we are sure they are going to feel very welcomed by everyone.
World Teachers Day - This week we honour and thank our wonderful teachers and the amazing work they do to enable all our students to learn to be full of hope, joy and wonder where all students are inspired to grow to their full potential. Our Support Staff presented each teacher with a beautiful bag of chocolates and the Year 6 students under the guidance of Ms Kaptein, presented our teachers with some very special gifts they made. Parents perhaps you would like to send a message about your child's teacher that we could share on FaceBook.
Please keep our Braidwood community in your prayers and continue to be thankful for the small everyday blessings around us.
God Bless
