Principals Report

    Dear Parents and Carers,
    Kinder Orientation
This week, St Bede’s held the first Kindergarten Orientation Day for our 2026 Kinder students. The children thoroughly enjoyed meeting Ms Cooper, spending time with their Year 5 buddies and exploring our new play equipment. We look forward to welcoming them back for the next Orientation Day on Tuesday.

    New Play Equipment
We are delighted to announce that the new play equipment is now complete. The children were thrilled to have their first opportunity to use it on Tuesday, and it has been wonderful to see their excitement and joy.
This project represents the culmination of much planning and hard work. We extend our sincere thanks to all parents and the Braidwood community for your generous support through fundraising and donations. We are particularly grateful to Bendigo Bank and the Veolia–Mulwaree Trust for their exceptionally generous contributions of $45,000 each.
Our heartfelt thanks go to Kristi Morrison, who coordinated the project with dedication and enthusiasm, supported by her husband, Tim. Together, they spent countless hours preparing the site to ensure it was ready for installation. Kristi was also assisted by Rachel Farley. We also thank the following people for their help:

    • Jacob - from Braidwood and Districts plumbing for donating his time
    • Marty Jeffery - for his time
    • Pat - from Tegra with Landscaping help
    • Palerang Landscapes - for suppling the fencing
    • Terry Anderson - concerting the sandstone blocks
    • Ben Ebejer and Rachel Farley - for their landscaping help

We are deeply appreciative of their commitment and effort in bringing this project to completion.

    Sensory Garden
The Sensory Garden has now been completed and looks wonderful. The Infants students enjoyed participating in the planting activities with Erin and Helen from Landcare.
We thank Clare Young for her outstanding coordination of this project, assisted by Emily & Pete, Charlot, Dan & Nicole, Kate & Dave, Richard & Kelly, Drew & Ruby, Corinne & Anthony, Khye & John, Jackie & Joe, Marita & Reto, Cole & Kate, as well our student volunteers Betty, Fallon, Kitty, Ava, Gus, Sam, Rudy, Ambrose, Jude, Benne, Rafe, Raf and Agatha. The Sensory Garden will provide many years of enjoyment and learning for our students.

    The Snail Cup
The annual Snail Cup was held on Tuesday and generated great excitement among students. Each class conducted their own heats, with the finals held later in the day.
Congratulations to Cara and Heidi for having the fastest snails of the competition!

    Remembrance Day
Next Tuesday is Remembrance Day. We invite all families to join us for our Liturgy at 9:00am as we commemorate the end of hostilities in World War I and honour all Australians who have died or suffered in wars and conflicts.
At 10:45am, our Year 5 and 6 students will represent St Bede’s at the community Remembrance Day Ceremony at Ryrie Park. Parents are warmly welcome to attend both services.

    Community Council Open Meeting
The Community Council Open Meeting will be held on Thursday, 13 November, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in the Kindergarten classroom. Parents and carers are invited to attend, enjoy light refreshments, meet our Council members and learn more about the important work they do in supporting St Bede’s.
We currently have vacancies for the positions of Community Council Chair and Fundraising Assistant, supporting Ruby Green and Fiona Noye.
Expressions of Interest can be emailed to office.stbedesb@cg.catholic.edu.au by Tuesday 11 November.

    Grandparents and Special Friends Day
Next Friday we will celebrate Grandparents and Special Friends Day — a much-loved tradition at St Bede’s. This special occasion provides an opportunity for grandparents and friends to share in our school community, attend our liturgy, enjoy a picnic lunch and visit the library to support our Book Fair. We look forward to welcoming all our special guests for this joyful celebration.

    Baby News

Congratulations to Emily and Sam on the arrival of their beautiful baby girl, Evie Pamela. Big sister Ayva in Kindergarten is already so proud!
