Principals Message

Dear Parents/Carers,

Apoligies that last weeks newsletter was delayed and held over to this week.

In Week 6 we conducted our Parent Teacher Interviews. Feedback from teachers and parents was very positive and it was a wonderful way to meet at school and to have robust conversations about your children’s progress without the children being present. Thank you to our amazing teachers and to all our families who took the opportunity to engage in this invaluable exercise. If you were unable to attend your meeting, please ensure you contact your child’s teacher and arrange a time to meet. We are no longer having comments on reports and interview were a wonderful opportunity to be given feedback.

Kinder to Year 2 Class Representatives have organised their first social event for a get together on Sunday 26 June at the club at 2pm onwards with invitations being sent home to families in the next few days. We thank Kristi, Clare and Emily for offering to take on this role and to organise the get together. We are still in need of a Class Representatives for Years 3 to 6. This is not an arduous job but a wonderful opportunity for a year level or year levels to combine and have some fun together. If you would like to volunteer for this job, please contact or email the front office.

Last Friday we will be conducted our second additional Pupil Free Day. This day has been provided by CE, for teachers to catch up on administration and preparation time. Unfortunately, due to the nation-wide teacher shortages, schools have been unable to provide the staffing to release teachers from class to do their much-needed preparation. Occasionally we have also had to spilt classes when teachers are unwell and provide the students with day away work due to the shortages. We are very fortunate at St Bede’s that we have not been as impacted by this as other schools around us have been. Finding relief staff for the class is always our priority!

We have had several students who are coming to school unwell. If your child has flu like symptoms please keep them at home, continue to do the Rats testing and return them to school when they are symptom free.

We extend our condolences to the Vardanega family on the recent death of their father, father-in-law and grandfather. Please keep the family in your prayers and thoughts.

Eternal Rest Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen

Enjoy your weekend.

God Bless and keep safe
