Dear Parents and Carers,
Tomorrow we say farewell to Ms Bridget Welfare. We sincerely thank Bridget for the wonderful job she has done teaching Kinder this year. I am sure her class will really miss her and will be waiting eagerly for the news of the baby. We look forward to Bridget coming back to visit with her new baby and wish her and Cameron all the very best for the impending birth. Miss Jessie Callan will commence in Kinder next week assisted by Mrs Lois White. Jessie has been working in Kinder this week establishing a rapport with the class and familiarising herself with the daily routines of Kinder to assist with a smooth transition.
This past week, we have had quite a few children who have been sent home with flu like symptoms. Parents please do not send your child/children to school if they are unwell as they will be sent home. If your child has flu like symptoms, they will be required to have a Covid test before they can return to school. The result of the test must be forwarded to the front office for record keeping.
Presently teachers are noticing that the children are tired and at times emotional. The children are still adjusting to the return to school and school routines and some students are managing hay fever coupled with the impact of day light saving and late nights. Parents, please ensure that your child/children are in bed at their regular times during the week to enable the children to fully function the next day at school and to get through the school week.
Plans are well underway for Kinder Orientation next Tuesday November 16 and Tuesday November 23 from 9am to 12pm. Special invitations have been sent to our 2022 Kinder students from their buddies and information has been posted to each family. Unfortunately, parents won’t be allowed to come into school, but the buddies will greet the students at the front gate as they arrive.
We are looking forward to having the children at St Bede’s.
The Father's Day raffle will be drawn at school tomorrow. Please return all raffle ticket butts and money via your children by tomorrow morning in case you have forgotten. Proceeds are going towards the purchase of new IT equipment for the students.
Recently, we have had wasp baits placed around the school to assist with the control of European Wasps. This has been supported by the replacement of fly screens on the windows of the classrooms and the front office area. The wasp baits are well and truly out of reach of our students and the chemicals used are not harmful to humans or other insects. These measures despite being costly, ensure that all children, staff, and visitors at St Bede’s are kept safe.
If in the event your child/children arrive at school late from 9:10am onwards, please ensure that a parent/carer comes into school and signs them in. Please do not drop the children off and expect them to sign themselves in.
Thank you so much to all our parents who have endeavoured to follow all the Level 3+ restrictions. Please ensure you contact the office if you need to come into the school, sign in at the front office and wear a mask.
Please keep our Braidwood community in your prayers and continue to be thankful for the small everyday blessings around us.
God Bless
Marylou Gorham
